EXIT ORIGINS

Thursday 31st March, 2011

One side effect of the strange genesis of EXIT is the trail of material left in its wake. Discarded characters, unused monologues, too-weird ideas and – even further back – stuff like A Perfect Empty Street.

It's a short story containing the idea that’s at the heart of EXIT; an idea that first appeared in a series of readings called Here: Secret Histories of Melbourne. Those readings then formed the basis of the exhibition Melbourne and Other Myths at the (sadly now defunct) City Museum.

For written proof that we’ve been thinking about EXIT for far, far too long, you can download A Perfect Empty Street over at the writer’s site.
